Dinner lecture series to focus on breast health

The next Cancer Services Dinner at Backus event will be Wednesday, Sept. 10, from 5-7 p.m. in Backus Hospital’s entry level conference rooms. The lecture will cover advancements in preventing, diagnosing and treating breast cancer.
The program is free but registration is required by calling 889-8331, ext. 2398.
The program includes a free dinner, panel discussion and presentations from Merle Stoner of the American Cancer Society and five physicians on the Backus Medical Staff:
- Gail Weingast, MD, Diagnostic Imaging, will discuss breast imaging.
- Melissa Welch, MD, OB/GYN, will discuss the importance of breast self examination.
- Mark E. Tramontozzi, MD, a general surgeon, will discuss surgical management.
- Vinod Pathy, MD, a general surgeon, will discuss breast reconstruction.
- Anca Bulgaru, MD, an oncologist, will discuss medical management of breast cancer.
