Backus to hold dinner program focusing on fresh fruits and vegetables

NORWICH - Learn about the essential nutrients found in fresh fruits and vegetables and the roles they play in your health and well-being at the Backus Outpatient Care Center on Thursday, Aug. 13, from 6-7 p.m.

The program will feature a culinary demonstration and discussion on ways of incorporating fresh fruits and vegetables into your daily diet.

Seating is limited and registration is required by calling Renee Frechette at 892-6994. There is a fee for this program of $7 per person or $15 per couple, which includes dinner. Registration closes Aug. 7.

The evening's menu includes a baby spinach and cherry tomato salad with balsamic vinaigrette and blue cheese crumbles; sautéed lemon chicken and whole-wheat spaghetti with summer squash and roasted peppers; and tropical fruits with mint and spices.
