New channel offers restful programming

The C.A.R.E. Channel, 24-hour environmental programming, is now available at Backus Hospital.
Short for Continuous Ambient Relaxation Environment, the C.A.R.E. Channel replaces extraneous sounds with peaceful scenes of nature and music to facilitate relaxation, relieve stress, support pain management and reduce the effects of hospital noise.
The C.A.R.E. Channel is available on all patient televisions throughout the hospital as well as outpatient areas including Same Day Surgery, the Emergency Department and patient lounge and waiting areas.
The C.A.R.E. Channel was made possible through the efforts of the hospital's Center for Healthcare Integration, an integrative healthcare program offering services and education to meet the growing interest in therapies that complement and enhance the medical care we currently provide.
